Building a Taper Jig on the X-Carve
In this video I build a taper jig on my X-Carve. I had been planning on building this the old fashioned way, but broke my plunge bit on my router. I was stressing trying to figure out how to build this, as I needed it for a table project I was building, and then remembered I could just do this on the X-Carve.

Great idea but you need to learn the difference between level and collinear and parallel. It will greatly improve the accuracy of your table saw. Ie your table is not perfectly flat and is more like a ruffle chip which is why you have so much trouble moving your fence lol

You say this is a calibration video, but at no point was anything calibrated. You checked proper assembly, and then ran a calibration check piece but at no point was the machine calibrated. You even day the machine is off, but its good enough for your needs.

Thank you for sharing with people. I did the same for about 5 years ago, but want to change it due to the fact that the Bosch Lift is not user friendly neither the bit replacement. Mine does not lift the way you are showing. Any idea? What am I doing wrong? Can you help? (by the way I released the locking system of the Lift). However I am planing to replace it with JessEm Lift and have Phenolic Table which I have to trim to fit to my Rigid Table Saw.

Thanks for the build ideas. There are beefier x carve table builds out there, but I think I will do something more like this since it seems to be the better bang for your buck. I like the custom drawer front idea... I'll probably take that note as well!

Glad your install went well. I can’t tell you how many bad reviews j read on Bosch’s website. There were a lot of comments about the table not being flat or being warped. Your installation is the third I’ve seen. I didn’t detect any complaints here or on the other 2 installs about a warped table. Just curious, how wide is your router table and how thick is it. Thanks for doing a job explaining everything.

There’s craftsmanship in both. By your argument using a router at all isn’t craftsmanship. You should be doing it all using hand tools. Maybe that is even cheating too? Probably should just scratch the wood out with our fingernails? Technology is always improving, as is art. Just enjoy the process man.

I've watched a few folding table solutions for the X Carve... this the best I've seen to date. Many attach the folding shelf directly to a wall... a problem on three counts... vibration transmitted through the building, It is fixed in only one location, no access around all four sides. This is great... will need to construct something 'very similar when my X Carve arrives.

Another thing to check on this saw is how square the blade is to the guid rail on the table. The Trunnions on these saws can get pretty sloppy. You can literally bump the saw and move the blade out of square by as much as 0.50" You might think it's your fence but in reality it's the blade.
